A compendium of information and links to do with my former obsession with golf.
Thought for the day
No-one on his death-bed ever regretted not spending more time in the office….
I took up golf seriously while living in Belgium and working in the Hong Kong Government’s Brussels Office during 1984-87. I was a member of the Golf Club de Bercuit
In Hong Kong, I joined first Discovery Bay Golf Club and later the (Royal) Hong Kong Golf Club
HAGS-UK
While in Hong Kong, I was a member and ultimately Chairman of the Housing Authority Golfing Society (HAGS).
On returning to the UK, I joined the HAGS-UK, of which I became Chairman in 2003.
More information about the HAGS-UK and our outings can be found here.

The Hong Kong Golf Club’s Deep Water Bay course.
On returning to the UK in 2001, I joined Frilford Heath Golf Club, arguably Oxfordshire’s premier golf club with three championship standard courses, where, until recently, I played regularly 2-3 times per week.

TTS ROLL-UP
An established sociable group of Frilford members (a mix of regular and ad hoc participants) who meet for a friendly game throughout the year on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at Frilford Heath Golf Club. More information available here.
I also acted as organiser for one of the regular roll-ups open to all members on Tuesdays and Thursdays – the “TT Roll-up”, as it was known – recently amalgamated with a Saturday Roll-up and retitled the “TTS Roll-up”.
Recently (as at mid 2021), as a result of the enforced layoff from golf because of lockdowns and closure of all golf courses for much of the past 18 months, I have decided to recognize the writing on the wall as regards my loss of mobility and decline in playing ability and give up golf as a regular pastime and have given up my FHGC membership.
